After an 11-hour stand-off with police, a 21-year-old man reported by neighbours to have barricaded himself in his home with his family has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful imprisonment.

No-one was injured in incident.

There was a heavy police presence throughout the night in Reedings Road, starting at 4pm yesterday when armed officers arrived on the scene.

Although officers assured the public there was no danger to them, neighbours within an area cordoned off had been ordered to stay inside their homes.

A police spokesman confirmed this morning that a 21-year-old man was arrested at 2.45am. He remains in custody at Grantham.

The spokesman added: “Grantham Police wish to thank the residents in the area affected by the police activity and cordons for their cooperation, understanding and patience.”

Wednesday, 6.58pm: Police are dealing with an incident in Reedings Road, Barrowby.

An incident response unit is at the scene and a short section of Reedings Road is closed off.

Police have confirmed they have been dealing with the incident since 4pm, involving a 21-year-old man in Reedings Road, Barrowby. Police say there is no danger to the public.
