Two men have been charged with the murder of a Grantham man who was attacked early on Sunday morning.
Ben Croft, 24, and Sam Croft, 21, both from Barrowby, have been charged with murder and were remanded in police custody. A further man and a woman also arrested in connection with the incident, in Edinburgh Road, were released without charge.
Police have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Daniel Walsh, 30, of Trent Road in Grantham. He was taken to Grantham Hospital after what police are calling a “violent incident” but later died.
Flowers and football shirts have been left at the scene in Edinburgh Road, in the Harrowby area, which was cordoned off by police for several hours on Sunday.
The East Midlands Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.
DCI Martin Holvey said: “There will be a significant police presence in the area over the next couple of days while we carry out investigations. Local officers will also be on hand so please do approach them if you have any concerns.
“We would like anyone who has any information on this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
