PENSIONER Barry Williams, who was brutally assaulted last weekend (May 8) used an anti-crime spray on his attackers, police have revealed.
Police have also released this image of Mr Williams injuries in another effort to get witnesses to come forward.
Investigating Officer DC Jim Stevenson said: “We now know from the victim that he carried an anti crime spray called STOPPARED which was sprayed at one of the assailants.
“It is a non toxic substance that leaves a red mark for a day or two before the substance can be washed off.”
The three attackers are believed to be in their early 20s, white and British. The attack took place at around 3.30pm on Sunday, May 8 in the car park at Morrisons in Grantham.
