THOUSANDS of children and staff from schools across Grantham tried to dance their way into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Children and staff from various schools attempted to break the record for the ‘Largest Simultaneous Dance Routine Across Multi Venues’ with a five-minute routine.

Chris Horrocks, principal at Walton Girls High School, paid tribute to sixth-form pupil Abbie Eldred who helped organise the event.

Mrs Horrocks said: “It was fantastic to see 400 of our students participate in a world record attempt at our school and I’m thrilled that Abbie played a pivotal role in encouraging so many other children across Grantham to take part.

“Fingers crossed that we break the record!”
