DARTS players turned out to a showdown with a legend in the sport on Saturday night.
Eric ‘The Crafty Cockney’ Bristow took on competitors at the Rutland Arms (Dirty Duck), at Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir.
The event was organised by ovarian cancer sufferer Andrea Ives, from the village. Brave Andrea, 44, is dying from the disease and has dedicated her final days to raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action.
She said: “It was a fantastic night and we had a fantastic turn-out. There were so many people, you couldn’t move in the pub.
“It was wonderful, but very tiring. We eventually left with Eric Bristow at 2 o’clock in the morning.”
Eric did a wonderful job, added Andrea, chatting to the dozens of people who went along.
As well as the chance to meet and play the darts legend, another highlight of the event was an auction.
All in all, the night raised £620 for the charity.
l Another upcoming fund-raiser is a fancy dress party at the Dirty Duck, from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 26. Admission is £5.
