A WOMAN, who missed the Grantham Race for Life because of an ankle injury, travelled to Holme Pierrepoint to run.

Tracey Townsend, of Thorneydene Gardens, Grantham, wanted to do the race in honour of her mum Brenda Marriot, who is suffering from breast cancer.

Tracey, who still was not up to full fitness, raised around £1,000 with some help from her collleagues at PAS in Colsterworth.

Her dad, John Marriot, said: “We’re really proud of her.”
