A Grantham dog breeder is delighted after her Slovakian rough haired pointer won two prizes at Crufts this year.

Jenny Chevalier, pictured with her three-and-a-half-year-old dog Nora, has been breeding and showing dogs for over 35 years, and has already enjoyed a lot of success.

Nora, or Stormdancer Coral as she is known in the show world, won limit bitch and reserve best bitch at the top canine competition.

It follows Nora being named top Slovak and best import register puppy during the show year 2013-15. In addition, Nora’s daughter has won junior bitch.

“Our classes are on the import register and we are quite a rare breed in the UK,” explained Jenny.

According to The Kennel Club, the Slovakian rough haired pointer breed has only recently come to Great Britain, having first arrived from Germany in 1997.

Jenny who lives on Greyfriars, added: “I am very proud of Nora’s win at Crufts, but most of all I love her because she is a dog in a million and part of my family. Showing is just a bonus and a hobby I enjoy.”
