Lithuanian national Anzelika Starkuviene was fined £300 for careless driving, after causing a crash on the High Dyke.

Starkuviene, 41, of Stour Court in Grantham, made a right turn on her way to work and drove directly into the path of an oncoming car.

Although only “relatively minor injuries” were suffered, both cars sustained extensive damage.

Jim Clare, prosecuting, said: “I think it is right to say the defendant’s car was a write-off.

“The damage to the victim’s vehicle...is a probable total loss.”

Starkuviene admitted driving without due care and attention and was fined £300.

She must also pay costs of £150 and a surcharge of £15.
