CADETS in Grantham are sporting brand new training corps shirts this week, thanks to the Duke of Rutland.

All 65 cadets with 47F Grantham Squadron Air Training Corps received the new polo shirts thanks to a donation from the Duke of Rutland - a former 47F cadet himself.

The Duke regularly calls in to see the squadron and is a member of the civilian committee. It was during a committee meeting that a request was made by cadets and staff for replaced polo shirts, with the Duke stepping forward to sponsor the cost of the shirts.

Officer commanding 47F, Flt Lt Gary Allen said: “It is a generous gift from the Duke who gives us tremendous support. We use parts of the Belvoir estate as a training area and we are very privileged to have such an avid supporter.”

The new polo shirts include the Belvoir Estate logo alongside the squadron crest in recognition of the Duke of Rutland.
