Pupils at Ancaster Church of England Primary School were delighted to receive a special visit from Sarah Saunders, from the National Dogs Trust.
Sarah visited the school to teach the pupils about the importance of understanding dog safety and how to be ‘Dog Smart’. Sarah also hosted an assembly for the whole school to engage the pupils in the theme of caring for pets.
In one of the classes, the pupils each brought their own toy animal into school and completed pet responsibility challenges. They also showcased their toys in a Crufts style event.
They also made a class book of their pets’ talents and these are being sent to the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association to be judged, with rosettes being awarded later on in the school term.
