THIS week’s featured primary school is St Sebastian’s in Great Gonerby.
According to village folklore, Great Gonerby folk are known as ‘Clockpelters’ because of the habit among pupils of throwing stones at the clock in the village church.
Children at the school are far too well-behaved to get up to those kinds of antics these days of course.
Headteacher Marina Faulkner said: “The children and staff of St Sebastian’s Church of England Primary School have made a very busy and happy start to the new school year.
“The children new to our school have settled quickly into school life and are enjoying making new friends.
“The unexpected autumn sunshine has provided wonderful opportunities to enjoy our brand new outdoors classroom, newly designed playground and huge field.”
The school has recently been awarded Healthy School status.
