STUDENTS of Grantham College invited passers-by to sample their sausages.
The group from the college’s hospitality and catering course manned a stall in St Peter’s Hill, offering up the tasty, meaty treats.
Meanwhile, students studying sports took shoppers’ blood pressure and measured their lung capacity.
Marketing officer Kerry Hanks said: “The event went really well. It was a really good opportunity to interact with the public and show what courses we have on offer.”
The event was organised as part of skills competition WorldSkills London 2011.
Kerry said: “It is part of 46 Have a Go activities, partly funded by the European Social Fund designed to ignite visitors’ passion for learning and introduce them to skills they may never have considered as possible career options.”
The event in St Peter’s Hill formed part of a three-day initiative which aimed to encourage people to try a new skill, trade or profession.
Among the activities, which also took place at the college, were how to make Halloween cupcakes, finding your way around Facebook, dog training, introduction to mechanical engineering and woodwork.
