THE deadline for primary school applications to be submitted has been extended.
Parents now have until January 14 to send off applications for a primary school place for their children.
The extension from before Christmas to January is a result of a national closing date introduced by the Government to ensure all local authorities operate the same way.
Parents are advised by Lincolnshire County Council to submit their forms as soon as possible to avoid forgetting over the Christmas period.
A county council spokesman said: “Parents who apply late may not be offered the school they want. It is important that all parents apply for a school place now if their child was born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2007.”
All parents must apply even if they have a sibling at the local school or a child is attending the school nursery.
Application forms can be picked up from any primary school, by calling the county council on 01522 782030 or online at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions
