CHILD athletes from Dudley House School in Grantham show their determination to raise money for a good cause during a school Fun Run.
Young children in Class 3 at the school have been learning all about rainforests and told teachers they would like to do something to raise money to help preserve rainforest land in Brazil.
Class 3 teacher Mrs Franklin organised a Fun Run for the children last week with kids raising as much as they can.
The school hoped to raised a total of £100 - enough to save one acre of rainforest.
However, the children surpassed expectations with their efforts.
Mrs Franklin said: “The children were encouraged to wear fancy dress with a rainforest link. Some costumes have been kindly loaned by the Woodland Trust. “However, prior to the event, sponsorship was such that two children had already raised enough money to buy an acre each.
“Many companies offer to save areas of the rainforest through sponsorship but it was decided that www.coolearth.org should be supported as the school will received a certificate of ownership and a link, along with coordinates of the location that has been protected by the school.”
Sponsorship should be returned to school by June 10.
