For the fourth year running 100 per cent of Toot Hill students have achieved five or more A* to C grades at GCSE, and almost 50 per cent of all GCSE grades achieved by students were an A or A*.
A total of 81 per cent A*-C gardes (including English and Maths) matches the Bingham school’s best-ever results.
Head of School Ashfaq Rahman said: “GCSEs over the past few years have been subject to constant change. The assessments have become significantly more challenging and rigorous. This has put many students across the country under enormous pressure to succeed.
“We are extremely proud of what we have secured here at Toot Hill School.”
Mr Rahman added: “Our students have worked extremely hard for five years and deserve lots of praise and congratulations for their examination results. A special thank you to their parents for the emotional support they provided their children, our support staff and to all our teaching staff, who have worked intelligently and tirelessly in lessons and provided so many wider opportunities for students to achieve.
“Most of our pupils stay on at the school to join our college, some go to pursue apprenticeships elsewhere. We would like to wish them all happiness and the very best for the future.”
Among the top achieving students were Emily Hover who achieved 10 A* grades, Hannah and Lizzy Dudley, identical twins, who between them have achieved 22 A/A* GCSE grades, of which 15 were marked A*, and Callum Bramwell who achieved 11 A*/A GCSE grades, and is set to undertake a prestigious apprenticeship with Rolls Royce.
