A Grantham nursery has received a ‘good’ Ofsted rating after undergoing a complete transformation since its previous ‘inadequate’ report.
The turnaround of Belton Lane nursery, now called Little Explorers, has come after national charity Children’s Links took over in February.
The new provider has given them £15,000 worth of new equipment and enabled the transformation of the outdoor space into an exciting play area complete with toys, allotment and ‘mud kitchen’ which Ofsted describes as a ‘haven’.
The report states: “The staff use the excellent outdoor environment throughout the day to encourage physical play and exercise in the fresh air, supporting children’s understanding of a healthy lifestyle.”
Ofsted also praise the indoor provision, adding: “An excellent range of quality resources are accessible for children to choose from in all rooms of the nursery.”
The news that they have been rated good in all areas has been welcomed by Lizzie Soper, who took over as manager flast year.
“The staff are all delighted - it’s been a huge team effort. The nursery used to have a bad reputation but there have been big changes since then, as the report shows,” she said.
Lizzie is now supporting new manager Kate Wrench as they continue to implement improvements.
