Priory Ruskin Academy “smashed” its target of A and B A-level grades, although the overall pass rate was down slighty on last year.
Lee Steptoe, head of sixth form, said: “We’re absoultely delighted with the Year 13 results.
“Ninety-five per cent got a pass grade, and 42 per cent of all results were As and Bs. That smashed our target of 12 per cent.”
Six students from the academy are going onto university. Three of them are going to prestigious Russell Group universities such as Nottingham and Liverpool.
Misha Gray said: “I’m very happy - I got a B I wasn’t expecting plus two Cs.
“I will be joining the RAF.”
Chantelle Brookes was also pleased with her results.
She said: “I got two Cs and a B, which is good enough for me to go to the University of Nottingham to do nursing.
“I am especially happy with my C in biology as I got it up from an E!”
