Students from five European countries visited Grantham as part of a two-year project.
The West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s hosted 10 visiting students and 10 teachers from Germany, France, Czech Republic, Hungary and Finland.
The visit was organised as part of the British Council-funded Comenius Project, entitled The Sun.
The project started in September 2013 and the visit earlier this month visit had a packed itinerary, with visits to the Space Centre, the Richard III Centre in Leicester and Isaac Newton’s birthplace at Woolsthorpe Manor being some of the many highlights.
The academy’s European dimension co-ordinator, Tracy Hobson, said: “Visits like these help to foster a real sense of belonging to the European community, with students working together to form firm friendships.”
The visiting students stayed with host families, while the teachers were accommodated at a local hotel.
