Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship has cemented its relationship with a German school by signing a special agreement.

KBZO Special Needs School in Weingarten has had links with the Grantham schools in the Fellowship - Ambergate Sports College and Sandon School - for four years and there is an exchange programme every year in which a group of children travel abroad to visit the other school. The agreement was signed in front of the children at Ambergate last Friday.

The agreement was signed to continue the links between the schools and ensure that the relationship is extended so that the schools become even more involved.

A target of £20,000 to set up a new gym at Ambergate Sports College has been reached.

The Ambergate site has no indoor sports facilities and they have been fundraising since October 2013 to raise money to install a small adapted gym within a disused outbuilding. The finished gym will have three Interactive Row-Prow Concept II Rowers, three Adapted Fusion R Cycles, a fully interactive Cardio Wall, three Pro Fit Exercise Balls, matted area and a punch bag.

To raise money pupils have held cake sales and book sales. Two teaching assistants even swam the English Channel to help raise money. Donations also came from The Lions Club and Grantham Rotary Club. An official opening is planned for the new year.
