Grantham College plastering students Stephen Farrington, Tom Rout and Rhys Parking took part in the SkillBuild competition at Vision West Notts College, finishing in first, second and fourth places.

SkillBuild covers 10 craft occupations, and the task set was to build a structure from a set drawing within six hours. Rhys, who entered the competition for the first time, finished in fourth place. Tom had entered the competition last year and finished third, while Stephen, who also competed last year and finished second, came first. His high score means he can compete in the national round in November with the chance to go on and compete at the 2015 WorldSkills competition in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
