A GIRL who has not had a single day off school in 11 years is celebrating finishing her GCSEs.
Holly Porter, of Oakham Close, Grantham, is now looking forward to going on to Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School (KGGS) sixth form.
Holly said: “I’ve broken bones but never had to have a day off.”
Her mum Anita is very proud of the achievement but at one stage she did think Holly would have to miss a day of school.
Anita said: “There was one illness when we thought she was going down with chicken pox but luckily it wasn’t.”
Headteacher at KGGS, Graham Burks is very pleased with her achievement.
He said: “It’s almost unheard of that she hasn’t had a day off school in 11 years. It’s absolutely fantastic.”
Holly also never had a day off when she attended Barkston and Syston Primary School.
Headteacher Sally-Anne Caunter, said: “She was always cheerful and hard-working. I am pleased to hear that she has managed to achieve full attendance for her whole school life - she should be congratulated.”
Another pupil at KGGS, Naomi Collier, from Claypole, also has a full attendance record from her secondary school.
She said: “I’ve not missed a single day since year seven. I feel pleased with the achievement and hopefully it will help in the future because uni is so competitive.”
