A BIG cheer resounded at Belton Lane Community Primary School when the latest Ofsted result was announced.
Proud staff and pupils at the school were over the moon to find out they had achieved a ‘good’ grade following an inspection in March.
Inspectors found many areas had been improved upon since the school’s last Ofsted inspection in March 2009.
Teachers’ teamwork, the headteacher’s vision and passion, pupils’ progress and high quality teaching and learning were among the areas praised.
However, headteacher Jonathan Mason said he is disappointed in the poor attendance of some pupils.
He said: “We have been working hard to improve the attendance of these children, as the report clearly states, and once attendance is improved I would expect the next Ofsted report to be ‘outstanding’.”
