Lots of bird species are spotted by pupils
BIRD-watching youngsters at Charles Read Academy spotted a plethora of species when they took part in the RSPB’s ‘Big Schools Birdwatch’.
Peering through binoculars, the Year 7 pupils of the Corby Glen school counted blackbirds, robins, jackdaws, wood pigeons, collared doves, gulls, crows and starlings.
They will now send their findings to the bird charity, which aims to build a picture of bird populations across the UK.
Pupil Ieuan Morgan said: “It was fun and we saw lots of different birds which we were able to identify.”
