THREE pupils at the independent Dudley House School in Grantham were shortlisted in a national picture book competition launched to mark World Book Day.

Imam Abdulrahman, Maisy Smart and Tabitha Goldstein created an illustrated short story which impressed judge Anthony Browne, last year’s children’s laureate. He was chosen by organisers of the competition ReadingZone and Anderson Press.

Their book, entitled ‘The Day Tiger Chased Imam’, was put together during an after-school book club.

Although they didn’t win, they were sent 10 picture books in recognition of their achievement.
