Professor Fluffy talks to pupils about university
Puppet Professor Fluffy visits pupils of The Earl of Dysart Primary School.
A PUPPET going by the name of Professor Fluffy paid The Earl of Dysart Primary School a visit to encourage pupils to think about education after their school years.
Alongside games and activities, the tiny purple puppet was used to talk to youngsters in Years 5 and 6 about university and raising their aspirations.
The visit was planned as part of a scheme called the ‘Aimhigher Primary Project’ developed by the University of Liverpool. A visit to Spitalgate Primary School is planned later this year.
The project is delivered over a number of weeks in a classroom setting and parents will be able to join their children for some of the sessions, during which pupils will design their own student union cards and complete workbooks.
Devon Foister, chair of The Earl of Dysart School council, said of the first visit: “I really enjoyed it and I want to go to university more than I did before.”
