PUPILS and staff at The National School were celebrating the results of their Ofsted inspection this week.

The school, which was inspected at the start of the month, received good and outstanding grades throughout the report.

Headteacher John Gibbs said: “We are delighted that the inspection team has validated the work of the school and identified many areas of outstanding practice.

“The report is a testament to the dedication of all the staff at the school, the work of the governing body and fantastic support of parents but above all is due to the enthusiasm and achievement of the stars of the National - the children.”

Overall the school was noted as ‘good’ receiving a level two grade. The report notes that the pupils make good progress during their time at the school, which is well led and managed. But it adds that the school should build on improving standards in maths.
