Despite tougher Ofsted criteria, a village pre-school has gone from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’.
There is plenty to be proud of at Colsterworth Methodist Pre-School after an inspector gave a glowing report.
Ensuring children develop strong early literacy and communication skills and extensive communication between the team of four staff and parents were praised.
The inspector also found that “professional practice and a dynamic learning environment results in wonderfully confident children with excellent independence for their age”.
One remark pre-school leader Sharon McGown was particularly proud of was that all children make rapid progress, irrespective of their starting points.
On the ‘outstanding’ grade, she said: “It’s fantastic news, we’re really pleased.
“A lot of hard work has been put in by staff. Everyone raised the standards.”
