A YOUTH band based in Grantham raises thousands of pounds for charity every year . . . and has a lot of fun along the way too.

Run with infectious enthusiasm by husband and wife team Paul and Katie Wilson, Music Machine performs several concerts a year to raise money for armed forces charity Help for Heroes, and has so far contributed £25,000 to the cause.

And the band hosts its annual Christmas concert at the Meres Leisure Centre on Monday, December 19.

This season’s concert, entitled A Christmas Cracker, will feature a wide variety of music including the theme from Harry Potter, Cry Me a River, a selection from Holst’s planets suite, as well as famous Christmas songs like All I Want for Christmas, In the Bleak Midwinter and once in Royal David’s City.

A raffle will also take place at the concert.

Tickets, at £8 (£2 for under-12s) are available from Melton Mowbray Building Society in High Street and FOX UK Music in Westgate.
