Grantham Rivercare will celebrate its 10th anniversary next week with a clean-up of the river and a gathering of members past and present.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 25, starting with a clean-up of the river from the Bridge End Road down to the white bridge in Wyndham Park.
Afterwards there will be a gathering at the bowls pavilion for presentations, displays and a buffet lunch.
The Rivercare group was started by Grantham Civic Society in October 2004 with a view to keeping this stretch of river in good order and free from rubbish.
Andrew Walters is Project Manager and he is employed by Keep Britain Tidy and will join the group for its celebration.
Rivercare is sponsored by Anglian Water, who help finance the clean-up equipment.
