The Grantham park is among 1,476 parks and green spaces to receive a prestigious Green Flag Award, which is handed out by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country.

A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

It is third year running the park has been awarded the accolade after working with Wyndham Park Forum and grounds maintenance contractors Glendale to ensure the open space has kept its high standards.

South Kesteven District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure, arts and culture Councillor Bob Adams said: “We are very pleased to receive a Green Flag Award for another year from Keep Britain Tidy.

“This award recognises and highlights that people in Grantham and South Kesteven are benefitting from a green space of the very highest quality.

“My congratulations go to our contractors Glendale, Wyndham Park Forum for their consistent support and our own grounds maintenance team for again meeting the very high standards we’ve come to expect from one of our finest open spaces in the district.“

“Quality green spaces are a vital resource for communities and that is why it is so significant that we have given out more awards than ever before.”
