SEVERAL times a year, selfless volunteers with pride for their town slip on their wellies and help clear the River Witham of junk and rubbish.
And the next big clean-up will take place tomorrow (Saturday).
Volunteers will don their high visibility vests and use various methods to fish the rubbish out of the river, thrown in by selfish, thoughtless vandals.
All sorts is found festering at the bottom of the Witham - in March, volunteers found shopping trolleys, a mattress and an armchair.
If you would like to go along and show how proud you are of your nice, clean town, meet the Grantham Rivercare team at the bridge in Stonebridge Road at 10am.
