FIREFIGHTERS at Grantham fire station were treated to a hearty breakfast on Monday as part of a campaign being promoted by the National Farmers’ Union.

NFU agent Alison Gemmell visited with a bacon bap for the team to promote Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The NFU has supports the campaign each year and organises events with farmers to promote great local food.

Many people don’t make time for breakfast and the aim of the campaign is to encourage people to find healthy ways of starting their day and spread the world about the work done by farmers all over the country. Experts say eating breakfast can help improve concentration, reduce stress levels, help weight control and give you more energy to get through the day.
