Monday, 2.35pm - VICTIMS of aggressive cold-calling salesman are being encouraged to contact police after a spate of incidents in the area.A number of incidents in the Castle Bytham and Little Bytham areas have been reported to police where pushy and aggressive cold-calling salesmen have refused to take no for an answer and upset elderly residents.

PCSO Louise Tow said: "On this particular occasion we are talking about people saying they are ex-offenders, just out of prison and trying to make a living buy selling cleaning products from holdalls.

"It is pretty generally accepted that cold calling just isn't on these days and that the public won't stand for it. But it's is even worse when these people are aggressive.

"We've had complaints that they are ignoring householders and continuing with their patter even when they are told to go away - and then using abusive language if nothing is bought."

Anyone with any information can call Grantham Police Station on 01476 403316.

PCSO Tow said: "We want residents to call us immediately if they see people operating in this way.

"If we can get down there and catch them at it then we have a much better chance of doing something about it and ridding our communities of this kind of nuisance."
