Tuesday, 2pm - POSTERS saying no to wind turbines in the Vale of Belvoir will be displayed in homes and businesses around the area during an appeal against a decision to reject plans for a 10-turbine wind farm at Thackson's Well, near Normanton and Long Bennington.BLOT - Belvoir Locals Oppose Turbines - has launched a huge poster campaign to coincide with the appeal, which starts at The Olde Barn in Marston on Tuesday, September 30.

Around 900 supporters are expected to display the posters during the eight-day hearing.

The campaign group has spent months raising funds to pay for legal and expert representation at the appeal.

Chairman Pandora Mawer said: "This would not have been possible without the public's support and incredible generosity.

"Thousands of pounds have been donated by locals who do not want turbines in the Vale of Belvoir or close to homes.

"A thank you to all those who donated seems hardly enough, but is heartfelt. We have been overwhelmed by the public support."

BLOT also intends to fly two blimps during the appeal to demonstrate the height of the turbines proposed by Dorset-based firm Infinergy.

Supporters can downlowd campaign posters from BLOT's website at www.blot-online.org
