BREAKING NEWS: Fire at town centre pub
Thursday, 5.35pm- A FIRE has broken out at the 7Eleven pub on Wharf Road.
Thursday, 5.35pm- A FIRE has broken out at the 7Eleven pub on Wharf Road. The fire started at around 4pm. It is not yet known what caused the fire, which broke out on the first floor of the building.
Dave Lord, Risk Manager for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said: "We committed four breathing appliances to the fire on the first floor.
"At the moment that's where we are."
Four fire engines were called to the scene, two from Grantham, one from Corby Glen and one from Sleaford.
The fire service are still in attendance.
Mr Lord said: "At the moment we think it might be under control.
"We think it's out. It's taken about 40 minutes.
"It's probably still smoky in there so we are waiting until it clears then we will try and find out what caused it."
Although there were people in the pub at the time nobody was injured.
