Monday, 3.40pm - A CONCERT organised to help victims of the recent cyclone in Burma raised more than 1,200.The event was organised by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Dudley Road, Grantham, on Saturday night.
Around 50 people attended and the total amount of donations collected, including donations from non-church members, was 1,277.
The money will be donated to ADRA-UK - Adventist Development and Relief Agency - which is working to help the victims of Cyclone Nargis.
In April, church members collected 4,000 from people in Grantham when they carried out their annual door-to-door collection for the charity.
Pastor John Ferguson said: "We would like to thank the people who came to the concert for their generosity and concern.
"We will be holding another collection on Saturday so we're expecting the final amount to have increased."
