Monday, 4pm - A BUS service used mainly by elderly and disabled people will be cut back by SKDC because of rising costs. The Dial-a-Ride scheme will face cuts across the county but South Kesteven is the worst hit.
Where other districts are offering travel to anywhere within the district boundaries, the South Kesteven service will only travel within Grantham, further alienating people in the villages.
The number of days the service will be offered will also be cut and yet the cost of fares is set to rise.
People using Dial-a-Ride will have to pay 65p a mile for every journey over two miles, a 25p increase. There will no longer be any return fares offered.
All current members of the scheme have been contacted by Lincolnshire County Council about the changes and passangers will need to re-apply for membership.
