Friday, 11am - DAREDEVIL Simon Repton successfully carried out a skydive over Mount Everest. The Grantham-born adventurer was part of an elite group of skydivers who jumped from above the world's highest mountain at 29,500ft to the world's highest landing zone at 12,350ft.

The jump consisted of a 62-second freefall and four-minute under-canopy float.

After completing a test jump from 16,000ft Simon was the first of his group to make the jump over the mountain itself.

He became lost in clouds during his descent but was able to find an alternative landing zone at a nearby yak farm.

Now safely returned to his home in Breckenridge, Colorado, Simon is planning his next venture.

Mum Rhona Repton, who lives in St Catherine's Road, Grantham, said: "He's spent his lifetime pushing his luck. I dread to think what's coming next."
