Friday, 9.45am - SLEAFORD MP Douglas Hogg is to repay the 2,200 it was claimed he charged the taxpayer for having his moat cleaned.Mr Hogg has denied the story, originally published by The Daily Telegraph, but said he would pay back the money "in recognition of public concern".
According to the Telegraph, Mr Hogg submitted an expenses bill for the cleaning of the moat at Kettlethorpe Hall, his home near Saxilby.
Mr Hogg says he did not ask to be reimbursed for the cost of the work, and that it was simply mentioned in a list of details of expenditure at the property.
He also used parliamentary allowances to pay for a full-time housekeeper at the Lincolnshire property and provide her with a car.
