Tuesday, 5.30pm - THE Journal's bridge strike campaign is gathering momentum after being featured in a national newspaper and on regional television.Last week, we started a campaign to stop weekly bridge strikes in Grantham by educating lorry drivers and their employers about how to avoid driving into bridges.

Grantham has three bridges in Network Rail's list of the 10 most hit in the UK every year - and we want to change that.

The bridges are in Springfield Road, Harlaxton Road and Barrowby Road.

Every time a bridge is hit, we're going to write to the company involved advising them how to stop hitting bridges and encourage readers to send in their pictures as evidence.

On Sunday, the issue was highlighted in the Mail on Sunday and today Journal editor Tim Robinson appeared on the BBC's East Midlands Today news programme to talk about the campaign.

Call us on 01476 562291 if you see a bridge strike. Tell us where, when and the name of the company and we'll write to them to tell them how to avoid it happening again.
