MR Leslie Harry Bennett, of Station Avenue, South Witham, has died at Lincoln County Hospital. He was 74.
MR Leslie Harry Bennett, of Station Avenue, South Witham, has died at Lincoln County Hospital. He was 74.Born in High Street, South Witham, he was the second son of Percy and Mary Bennett. He lived in the village is whole life.
He married Margaret in 1960 and they had two children, Mandy and David and later two grandchildren, Gemma and Rhiannon.
For 25 years he worked for Jack and Jim Hind on the farm in the village. He later worked for Premier Lime and Stone Quarry, at Creeton, Little Bytham, where he spent a further 25 years until his retirement.
Mr Bennett love to watch and feed the birds in his garden. He also liked to visit garden centres, and take holidays on the east coast several times a year. He was interested in watching rugby and football on the television and going for walks around the village.
The Rev Tom Broadbent conducted the funeral service at St John the Baptist Church, South Witham. Cremation followed at Grantham.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare, Bridge End Road, Grantham.
