MR Ronald Victor Pacey, of Sedgebrook, has died at Grantham Hospital. He was 88.

MR Ronald Victor Pacey, of Sedgebrook, has died at Grantham Hospital. He was 88.Mr Pacey was born at Stenwith. On leaving school he began work as an apprentice plumber for Jim Pacey. In 1939 he joined the Lincolnshire Regiment and during the Second World War he served in the ROAC and REME. He was demobbed in 1946.

During this time he met Mollie and they married in 1942. They had a daughter Janet and son Robert.

After demob he worked for William Roberts and then for Ken Morley on the Belvoir Estate.

After his retirement he and Mollie enjoyed gardening. He always helped with the village fete and he kept the lead on Sedgebrook Church roof in good order.

Prior to going into hospital, he and Mollie had spent some time in Birchwood Nursing Home in Grantham.

The funeral service was held at St Lawrence Church, Sedgebrook, conducted by the Rev John Cook. Cremation followed at Grantham.

Family mourners included: Janet Pacey, Robert and Margaret Pacey, Barbara, John and Ian Sentence, Nick and Val Dodds and Andrew and Pat Dodds.

Donger, Geoff Donger, Ian Blackburn, Vic Burgess, Bob Taylor, Ian Norris, George Norris, Ken Roberts, Sheila Webster, Kevin Burrows, Ron King, Mr K. Ablewhite, R. D. Hagues, Mrs P. Dorey, Tony and Ann Barnes, Roger Braisby, Dennis and Janet Braisby, Mr B. Glover, Mrs B. De'Ath, Richard and Eileen Kelham, Russ Green, Tim Nuttall, Sue Fisher, R. Hendry, Mr A. Gamble, Samantha Wade, Geoff and Pam Wade, J. Foster, John Warby, Christine Warby, William Sutton, Mr A. Williams, Kate and John Pike, Susan Dunsmore, Ann Moulsher, Olive Nicholls, Barry Nicholls, Don Copley, John Payne and Rosamond Payne.

Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.

Donations to be divided between the British Heart Foundation and the Stroke Association amount to 350.
