Saturday, 8am - MUSIC promoter and charity fund-raiser Noel Wallis was honoured at a surprise 'This is your Life' celebration at Grantham College on Friday evening.Noel, who has been involved in showbusiness for more than 50 years, was the guest of honour at the celebration, which included performances from some of the best known names from Grantham's music scene.
Roger Graves was the compere for the evening and narrated the story of Noel's life.
The show started with only the third appearance in 50 years of the Grantham Vagabonds skiffle group, featuring singer Vince Eager, former Cliff Richard and the Shadows bass player Brian 'Licorice' Locking, guitarist Roy Clark and washboard player Mick Fretwell.

Entertainers Terry Carey and Lee Robins performed solo sets and joined Licorice for a selection of Shadows hits.
The evening concluded with Dave Knight followed by the popular Abba Tribute Duo, 'The Name Of The Game'.
More than 180 people attended the show and the proceeds are going towards a holiday for Noel and his wife Christine.
