Tuesday, 4.35pm - A PLANNING appplication to build six turbines at Sempringham Fen, near Billingborough, has been submitted to South Kesteven District Council. But the formal consultation process will not begin until missing information is submitted by developer ScottishPower Renewables.

The council's planning department has asked the firm to hand over unspecified information to validate the application, which was first submitted on Christmas Eve.

The firm says it plans to hold consultation events within the Billingborough and Pointon areas in February or March as part of the planning process.

Campaign group AGAST says it is preparing to fight the application once the official consultation begins.

Chairman Debbie Wren said: "As soon as the application is official we will ramp up our fight.

"We have to face the fact that people here are suffering from the downturn and have more important things to spend their money on but we will fight within our means and do our very best."
