Monday, 5.30pm - POSTAL protesters campaigning to keep the Royal Mail public were delighted with the support they received in Grantham.Post Office staff joined union members in Grantham High Street on Friday morning to ask people to support their campaign against part privatisation.

More than 1,500 people from Grantham signed the petition in support of the 'Keep the Post Public' campaign.

Andy Coe, who works at the Grantham delivery office and is a union rep, said: "The support by the people of Grantham has been great and clearly reflects that the public do not want their postal services split up and sold off."

The protest was organised by the Communication Workers Union, which is concerned about plans sell off part of Royal Mail to a European company.
