Thursday, 4.35pm - A LORRY driver is in a serious condition after his HGV left the road and collided with a tree.

Thursday, 4.35pm - A LORRY driver is in a serious condition after his HGV left the road and collided with a tree.The accident happened at around 11.10am on Thursday at the A17 near Brant Broughton and involved a Mercedes lorry from the Boston area.

The driver was trapped in the cab but fire and rescue teams from Grantham, Brant Broughton and Newark worked for over an hour to successfully free the man, using hydraulic rescue equipment.

The driver was taken to Lincoln County Hospital.
