CADETS with 47F Grantham Squadron Air Training Corps who passed their first exams can look forward to flying gliders and learning to shoot.

The ten cadets who began their 18-week training course together in September have been taught a variety of skills from uniform care to principles of flight and airmanship.

To mark the end of their course, the recruits were on parade in front of Mayor of Grantham Mike Taylor, 47F Squadron Chairman Flt Lt John Rogers, as well as family and friends. The recruits were then formally enrolled into the squadron.

Officer Commanding 47F, Flt Lt Gary Allen, said: “They have all worked hard and formed as a team very early on.”

The next intake of recruits will be in mid-March. Anyone who is interested in joining and is at least 13 years old is welcome.
