A SPECIAL celebration event will be held by Grantham Foodbank to mark the organisation’s first birthday.
The foodbank has so far collected around 11 tonnes of food which it has distributed to an estimated 1,000 Grantham people, including more than 350 children.
All volunteers and supporters will be invited to next Friday’s event which will include a presentation review of the first year and plans for the future.
The event will be held at Harrowby Lane Methodist Church on Friday, July 6, with a 7.15pm start.
The Grantham Foodbank is grateful for all donations but is currently appealing for specific items to be donated including rice, sugar, long-life fruit juice, long-life milk, tinned fruit, tinned meat/fish, jars of pasta sauce, instant mashed potato and tinned vegetables.
