A teenager has raised £900 for Macmillan Cancer Care in memory of her great grandad by jumping off a Las Vegas skyscraper.

Laura Golding, 16, raised sponsorship for her turn on the Skyjump from the top of the Stratosphere building which is 108 floors and 855 feet high. The controlled descent reaches a speed of 45 miles per hour.

Laura went to Las Vegas with her grandparents Roger and Sandra Brown and mother Emma.

Sandra said: “She was absolutely brilliant and she laughed all the way down.”

Laura was born in Grantham and is a former pupil of the National School. Much of her sponsorship came from people who work at or attend the Gala Bingo and Manthorpe Centre in the town.

Laura now lives in Norfolk and raised the money in memory of great grandfather Eric Taylor.
