Four arrested after man dies in ‘violent incident’ in Grantham

Three men and a woman have been arrested following the death of man in the Harrowby area of Grantham last night.

Police officers were called to Edinburgh Road, Grantham, just after midnight.

A 30-year-old Grantham man was taken to Grantham Hospital with serious injuries and later died.

The victim has not been officially named but has been named locally as Danny Walsh of Grantham.

Three local men aged 21, 24, 24 and a local woman aged 26, have been arrested in connection with incident.

The circumstances of the death are being investigated by the East Midlands Major Crime Unit assisted by local officers and staff.

The Senior Investigating Officer is Detective Chief Inspector Kate Meynell, she said: “We are at an early stage of the investigation talking to witnesses and the family of the deceased man.

“We are trying to establish exactly what took place and to that end I am asking for witnesses or anyone with any information about this event and the circumstances surrounding it to contact Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency 101 number.

“Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

The area around the incident in Edinburgh Road has been cordoned off by police but friends and family of the deceased have already begun laying flowers.

A minutes silence was held at a local football game in Allington today in memory of Danny.
